Our Pastor

Pastor Harris has been a member of Firm Hope Baptist Church since 1982 As a member, then, Brother Harris, under the tutelage of the late Pastor Timothy C. Turner Sr. was and is still active in the Prison and Youth Ministries. In 1988, Pastor Harris was ordained to serve as a Deacon.

Now, as the Senior Pastor of the Firm Hope Baptist Church, Pastor Harris serves through the proclamation of God’s word, leadership development through the implementation of spiritual development training, and execution of the vision of our church.

First Lady Ruthie Harris

Pastor Harris is married to his beautiful wife, First Lady, Ruthie Harris for over 40 years. To this union were added three beautiful children, Richard Jr, Ryan, and Rachel as well as grandchildren. Known as “Al” to his family and friends, Pastor Harris’ love of God is equally matched with the love of his family, as he is famous for saying, “God loves the family.”
